Atlanta named Tagovailoa its Week 1 starter on September 7, but injury prevented that start. The September 18 team report names Cooper Rush for his second consecutive start. Winning the initial job, actually starting a game and remaining the season starter are different outcomes; the post does not specify which. The season remains open.
